The Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association was formed in January of 1957. KRMCA maintains a joint office in Topeka, Kansas with the Kansas Aggregate Producers’ Association (KAPA), formed in 1967. Both Associations are under the direction of Jerry Younger, P.E.
The KAPA-KRMCA staff operates under the direction of a board of directors and conducts business such as lobbying activities, educational activities, meetings, and maintains a close relationship with the national organizations representing these industries.
KAPA-KRMCA is dedicated to the betterment of the ready mixed concrete and aggregate industries in the state of Kansas and works for members and non-members.
KAPA-KRMCA is dedicated to promoting and enlarging the USE and CONSUMPTION of industry products.
KAPA-KRMCA is dedicated to the exchange of ideas and information relative to the production, sale, and use of aggregate products and ready mixed concrete in Kansas.
KAPA-KRMCA provides a basis for the members of the ready mixed concrete and aggregate industries to coordinate their efforts in solving common problems.
KAPA-KRMCA is willing to perform acts and services on behalf of the industry that may be more satisfactorily performed by group action as opposed to an individual one.
The Manufacturers and Technical Division (M&T) represents the suppliers for the association. Those individuals and companies who service the industry with their products.
The legislative advocacy program monitors the actions of local elected officials and fights to protect your company and your investments. KAPA-KRMCA has two full-time lobbyists to listen to your needs and represent the aggregate industry before the Kansas Legislature.
The Association has numerous advertising opportunities. KAPA-KRMCA produces an annual Membership Directory. Companies have the opportunity to publish advertisements in the directory of various sizes depending on the level of sponsorship and the company’s marketing goals. Over 1,500 copies of this publication are distributed every Spring to professionals in the aggregate and ready mix industries.
KAPA-KRMCA has extensive educational programs provided throughout the year. Together, the associations offer some regular programs that may include ACI Certification Training, Sales Certification Training, Train the Trainer, Concrete Pavement Repair, and Safety and Health seminars. The cost of the seminars and training varies, but many are free to members.
At last, a membership where your pocketbook can breathe! The annual membership dues for the M&T Division is a flat fee.
One of the best ways to network in the aggregate and ready mixed concrete industries is to serve on a committee. KAPA-KRMCA offers several ways to be involved. KAPA-KRMCA offers a Research and Specification Committee designed in conjunction with KDOT, an Environment and Safety Committee designed in conjunction with MSHA, event planning committees for the Birdie Bash Golf Tournament, Annual Convention and Mid Year Meeting, as well as a long range planning committee.
KAPA-KRMCA, hosts many special events during the year. Members can enjoy events such as the Annual Convention, Birdie Bash Golf Tournament, Mid-Year Meeting, and Annual Awards Ceremony. These events are intended for you to meet and network with others in your industry, as well as, learn about your association and all it can do for you.
The KAPA-KRMCA Manufacturers and Technical Division (M&T) produces several publications throughout the year dedicated to the exchange of information.
