MORGISON SAFETY PROGRAM

The Morgison Safety Program was established in 1998 and named after long time Safety Committee Chair Harold Morgison.

The annual program seeks to recognize and those members of the Kansas Aggregate Producers Association and Kansas Ready Mixed Concrete Association who have done an outstanding job of promoting a safety culture within their company. Winners in both the Sand & Gravel and Rock category are judged annually and recognized at our annual convention in January. The competition for aggregate members is judged by the Mine Safety & Health Administration and the ready mix is judged by an independent panel. The program is open to any KAPA or KRMCA member. To enter simply complete the forms appearing in the appropriate columns and transmit to the association office by November 30, 2024.

2023 KAPA Morgison Safety Program

The safety program runs from October 1, 2023 and ends September 30, 2024. Each year this program continues to be very successful and we wish to continue our efforts promoting safety in the workplace.

Rules and requirements for the program:

All forms/reports must be received by November 30, 2024 to the KAPA office.

MSHA will verify the reported information before the annual convention and will decide the winners of each category and the winner of the Morgison Safety Award.
There will be three categories determined as follows:

0 to 20,000 Man Hours

20,001 to 30,000 Man Hours
30,001 and over Man Hours

Recognition certificates will be awarded to those participants of the safety program who have gone “accident free” throughout the year. Those certificates will be mailed after the convention.

2023 KRMCA Morgison Safety Program

An independent judging panel will review the information and tabulate scores before the annual convention and will decide the winners of each category and the winner of the Morgison Safety Award.
There will be three categories determined as follows:

Category A – Up to 9 trucks

Category B – 10 to 19 trucks

Category C – 20 or more trucks

One overall winner of the Morgison Award will be determined by a panel of judges and announced at the annual convention.
