Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality for Concrete Construction

Mr. Tennis will review PCA’s “Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality by 2050”, laying out a plan for lower carbon future for the cement and concrete industries, by identifying tools within the five links of the concrete value chain that improve the environmental efficiency of concrete pavements and structures, and discussing current and emerging technologies that need to be advanced to meet the final goal. The “Roadmap” identifies paths to reduce its carbon footprint while continuing to serve the needs of designers, builders, and owners.

Mr. Hug will provide some background into Portland Limestone Cement; why the industry is rapidly shifting to this product, and how this affects concrete properties. This will include an overview of some actual performance data from a recent project that was completed in Kansas utilizing PLC.
